Driver shortages impact garden waste collections

The national shortage of HGV drivers has begun to impact our rubbish and recycling service. We are working closely with Biffa, our waste collection contractor, to minimise disruption and prioritise the key services of food waste, rubbish and recycling.

As a result, garden waste collections are being suspended, initially for two weeks from Tuesday 24 August. This will affect all collections from Tuesday to Friday on both weeks. Monday collections will still take place, as Biffa does not collect rubbish and recycling on this day, which means more drivers are available.

Making improvements to Queens Park, Caterham

We want to hear from residents who regularly use Queens Park in Caterham, as we start to look at how it can be improved.

We want to know what Queens Park means to you, what you like to use it for and what changes you would like to see in the future.

Thank you for shopping locally this summer

Our businesses across the district are really grateful for the support residents have shown them by continuing to shop locally this summer. Over the last few months we have recorded a number of videos with businesses and shoppers to show the range of businesses we have on our doorstep, while also hearing from shoppers about why our high streets are such great places to visit and shop.

The videos we recently recorded in Lingfield and Warlingham are now available, with more to follow for Caterham and Oxted. We are sharing these across our social media channels, promoting our high streets and encouraging residents to continue supporting their local businesses.
