Help prevent flytipping

Residents and businesses are urged to be vigilant when employing traders to dispose of their waste or risk a fixed penalty of £400 or a fine of up to £5000.

Although a rogue trader may flytip the waste, it could still be whoever employs them that is fined. To avoid prosecution, residents and businesses must ensure they use a registered waste carrier and ask them how and where they intend to dispose of waste, get a receipt and avoid traders who knock on doors or advertise on websites like Facebook and Gumtree.
