Tandridge district residents are top Surrey recyclers once again

Residents have helped boost the area’s recycling rate to 58.4% which, according to the latest government recycling figures for local councils in England in 2017-2018, makes the Tandridge district the joint second highest recycling district in Surrey and well within the top 20 of all councils which collect recycling in England. The district’s recycling rate is over 13% higher than the national average.

Fairer energy prices this winter

On 1 January there was a big change to gas and electricity charges in Great Britain, known as the energy price cap.

The cap is being set to ensure energy prices are fair, in line with changes to the underlying costs of providing the gas and electricity that heats and powers our homes. Around 11 million customers in England, Scotland and Wales on ‘default’ tariffs – such as standard variable tariffs – will benefit from the cap.
