Publication scheme

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 we have to provide a Publication Scheme, which sets out the information we make available to the public.

Our publication scheme set out below follows the Information Commissioner's Model Publication Scheme for local authorities and we will publish information in line with this. Not all of the information we publish is listed in this scheme.

  • Council offices and contact details.
  • Code of Governance: The Code of Governance sets out the Council’s approach to delivering good governance. Good governance is how the Council ensures it is doing the right things, in the right way, for the right people, in a timely, inclusive, open, honest and accountable manner. The Council is committed to the principles of good governance and has adopted the seven core principles of the CIPFA and SOLACE framework. The Council expects councillors and officers to uphold the highest standards of conduct and behaviour and to act with openness, integrity and accountability when carrying out their duties.

The Code is based on the Council's existing constitution, protocols and procedures and is updated to include changes to documents and procedures in the previous year. The Code and the Annual Governance Statement are presented to the Audit and Scrutiny Committee for approval every year, along with the Statement of Accounts.
