About the Inquiry

The Inquiry started on 10 August 2021 and lasted for four days.

The Planning Inspectorate received an appeal against a planning application submitted relating to a site at Land of Oxted Road (A25) Oxted, Surrey.

The appeal is for the erection of a crematorium facility with associated memorial areas, landscaping, parking and infrastructure. Horizon Cremation Ltd made the appeal under s78(2)(a) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

The Secretary of State appointed Planning Inspector Jonathan Price BA(Hons) DipTP MRTPI DMS to deal with the Inquiry. The Planning Inspector will run the inquiry in the normal way, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it will be held as a virtual event.
