We’re working with our partners, Surrey County Council and Caterham Valley for You, to make Station Avenue, Caterham, a more attractive and welcoming space for everyone.
These improvements are part of a bigger project to deliver the aspirations of the Caterham Masterplan which aims to make the area more attractive for people to live and work in, as well as boosting the economy and creating more jobs. This has included our purchase, refurbishment and modernising of Quadrant House, which provides a variety of office and retail space and the Croydon Road project.
What is being proposed?
Our goal is to create a more attractive and welcoming space for everyone - ideal for resting, socialising and hosting outdoor events. We also want to support the local economy by encouraging people to spend more time in the town centre and make full use of Caterham’s shops, cafes and services.
Recent proposals include:
Wider footways, new seating, trees and bus shelters to make walking and waiting for buses more comfortable. Safer crossings and redesigned roundabouts to make it easier for people and vehicles to move around.
