Council owned property investment company makes first purchase

Gryllus, the Council’s property investment company, has bought its first property for £3.25m. The property is in Maidstone’s primary shopping area and has been let to Marks & Spencer for the past 30 years. It will generate a net revenue income of £226,000 a year.

Council secures Partial Closure Order for Caterham Valley property

Tandridge District Council, working with Surrey Police, has been successful in securing a Partial Closure Order for a flat in Tandridge Court, Caterham Valley, in response to ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour. The order obtained at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 September, prevents anyone other than the tenant and her partner from accessing, residing at or visiting the property for one month

Application for gasholder re-development to be submitted by September

The proposal for the new development for the gasholder site in Oxted was presented to councillors this evening by developers, St William. Achieving the removal of the gasholder is one of the Council’s key priorities. A planning application is now expected by the end of September and if the scheme is approved, work to bring the gasholder down will begin in summer 2018.
