Gryllus Housing Company to be set up

Last night’s Finance Committee agreed to set up the Gryllus Housing Company to allow the Council to provide different types of housing to meet local need. The new company will be created under the umbrella of Gryllus Holdings Limited, which was set up in 2017.

Mischievous elves are heading for Caterham Valley this Christmas

The Caterham Valley elves are once again getting ready to take over the town to bring some festive magic in the run up to Christmas.
For four weeks from Saturday 24 November, the impish little creatures will be hiding in shops and businesses around Caterham Valley waiting to be discovered by elf detectives.

Last call to register to vote

On 1 December the new electoral register will be published. This lists all the people entitled to vote at elections.

Every household in the district has been sent a Household Enquiry Form to update online, by text or return by post. Anyone who has not updated their form can still amend or confirm their details. To add someone to the form they must also be registered online at

Housing Committee updated on the draft Housing Strategy

Last night’s Housing Committee was updated about the public consultation for the Council’s draft Housing Strategy “A place to call home”. The consultation ran for a month in October. Over 200 comments were received from residents, councillors and organisations such as developers, land agents, planning consultants and service professionals.
