The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 gives councils and their partners new tools to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) in their local areas. These tools replaced older measures and were designed to make it easier to focus on the impact of ASB on communities and individuals, especially the most vulnerable. The Act aims to put victims at the centre of how ASB is dealt with.
One tool under the 2014 Act is a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). A PSPO is a legal order councils can use to help tackle anti-social behaviour in public spaces.
We would like your views on whether the Council should introduce a PSPO in Caterham Valley, to tackle the anti-social issues being faced.
Location of proposed PSPO
One option being considered is introducing a PSPO to prevent the inappropriate use of vehicles, including mopeds, motorbikes, e-scooters, cars, lorries and buses, from mounting and parking on the pavements along parts of Croydon Road and Godstone Road and all of Station Avenue and the Croydon Road service road leading to the Waitrose and Lidl car parks.
The PSPO would apply to both moving and parked vehicles. Please see the map of the proposed area.

Your feedback will help us decide whether a PSPO is needed and whether or not it could be a beneficial and effective tool.
