Referendums

In accordance with the Local Authorities (Referendums) (Petitions and Directions) (England) Regulations 2000. Tandridge District Council is required to publish the number of local government electors needed to sign a petition in order to hold a referendum within the authority's area.

The Regulations make provision for holding a referendum on the question of whether the authority should operate executive arrangements which involve an elected Mayor or Cabinet arrangement to management to manage the Council.

In order for a valid for a valid petition to be presented between 1 April 2012 and 31 March 2013 the minimum number of signatures of registered electors (equivalent to 5% of the districts local government electors) is 3112.
