Why does it take so long to collect all the outstanding recycling and waste?

Unfortunately severe weather can cause delays and often results in a lot more material to collect.

If there is more waste to collect, it takes longer for the crews to complete their rounds. At the same time every extra days' delay means more recycling and waste is being added to the bins and bags still waiting to be collected, increasing the amount of materials.
