If my application goes to committee what happens? Can I speak in support of or against an application?

If a planning application is referred to the Planning Committee for decision, the Committee will usually hear one objector, a parish or village council representative, and the applicant or agent for three minutes each before debating and deciding the application. Committee agendas are made public five days before the date of the meeting.

If you want to address the Committee you or your representative must attend and register before 7pm on the night. Applications with public speaking are dealt with first at the meeting.

Exceptionally, the Committee may decide to defer consideration of an application for more information or a site visit. There will be similar public speaking arrangements when the application is referred back to Committee for decision.
