Boulthurst Way consultation starts

Released on: 15 June 2017

A public consultation about plans for the development of some of the land at Boulthurst Way takes place on:

  • Saturday 17 June, 10am until 1pm
  • Monday 19 June, 5.30pm until 8.30pm

at St Agatha’s Hall, Greenhurst Lane, Hurst Green RH8 9AH.

Planning consultants, Kember Loudon Williams, are leading the consultation and will be available at the consultation events to discuss the plans, which will provide:

  • 24 homes: 18 affordable homes to those with a local connection and 6 homes for sale at market rates.
  • A mix of affordable 1 and 2 bedroom flats and 2 bedroom homes, with 4 bedroom homes available to buy.
  • Two access points via Boulthurst Way and Pollards Wood Road, with no through traffic.
  • A pedestrian footpath to local shops and the station.
  • An improved play area with existing woodland and open space kept.

More information about the scheme can be viewed in the documents below. Once you have viewed these, please complete the online questionnaire.

We are also keen to gather more information about the type of affordable housing local people are looking for. Please complete our affordable housing survey

All comments will help shape the future design and layout of the area, before a planning application is drawn up and submitted later this summer. Originally it was proposed to develop a greater proportion of the site, but the plans have been revised in response to local concerns, which means at least 65% of the site will remain open space and a greater proportion of the homes will be available at affordable rents to local people.
