A vibrant future for Tandridge
Our overall vision is to make the district a vibrant place where people want to live, work and visit. We have set key priorities to help us achieve that vision.
For example, we are determined to bring the gasholder in the centre of Oxted down and plenty of hard work has been going on behind the scenes to try to make this happen.
An Urban Redesign project is also underway in Oxted, which will set out a new vision for Station Road East and West.
We also have big plans for Caterham Town Centre with the new Caterham Business Improvement District, voted for by 90% of local businesses, playing a key role in its development.
As part of our commitment to dealing with flooding, we've put £300,000 of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) towards flood prevention in Smallfield.
We are continuing to work with local businesses across the district to help promote economic growth and employment.
Our planning team is busy analysing the comments you submitted in response to the Local Plan Sites Consultation. All of these will help shape the Local Plan, which will set out where homes, jobs, community facilities, shops and infrastructure can be delivered and identify the areas that need to be protected. We will be consulting again on the Local Plan later this year.
There is plenty to keep us busy in the year ahead and as ever we greatly value your input and support.
