During the Annual Meeting of the Council in May, the Chairman of the Council

(This link will open in a new window)are appointed for the year. The Chairman represents the Council at local community events and outside functions.
If you would like to invite the Chairman of the Council to attend a local event, for example to open a fete, make a speech or as a guest, please contact the Chairman's Secretary Lesley Ayers. Once she has confirmed availability you will need to complete a Chairman's form.
The Chairman
(This link will open in a new window) of the Council for 2012-2013 is Councillor Sakina Bradbury (pictured right with her daughter Rachel and son Adam).
Councillor Bradbury has lived in Caterham for 24 years and has represented Whyteleafe Ward since 2002. For the past year she has been the Council Vice-Chairman and from 2008-2010 Vice-Chairman of the Licensing Committee. During the last nine years she has served on many other committees. She is the current Vice-Chairman of Whyteleafe Village Council.
She is a School Governor for Sunnydown School, has a keen interest in youth organisations and also set up the volunteer organisation Whyteleafe Helping Hands, which provides help to local residents to carry out everyday tasks such as shopping or transport.
During her year the Chairman has chosen to support two charities and also hopes to recruit more volunteers for these organisations. The charities are:

(This link will open in a new window), a local epilepsy charity supporting specialised dietary treatments for drug-resistant epilepsy sufferers.Councillor Bradbury is a Natural Health Practitioner. She will be supported by her son, Adam an account executive and daughter Rebecca who is studying medicine.
