In 2001 the Council adopted the Tandridge District Local Plan as the statutory local plan for the area and in October 2008 the Council adopted the Core Strategy which sets out key policies for the District. The Core Strategy must be read in conjunction with those parts of the Local Plan that are still in operation.
You can view the saved Local Plan policies and the on-line Planning Policy Maps
(This link will open in a new window) using this link. The link will also enable you to see the Core Strategy on-line. The Local Plan Appendices including parking standards are available using this link.
Alternatively the Core Strategy is available on the Tandridge planning policy portal (Core Strategy)
(This link will open in a new window) and a PDF version of the Core Strategy is also available.
Following the adoption of the Core Strategy many Local Plan policies have been superseded. The List of Local Plan policies retained after adoption of Core Strategy shows which local plan policies still apply, which have not been saved and which have been superseded.
A printed version of the local plan can be obtained for £27.
Design Guidance for the Harestone Valley area and for Woldingham have been adopted as Supplementary Planning Documents, these are available at Harestone Valley and Woldingham Design Guidance.
The Council has produced Supplementary Planning Guidance on the Conversion of Buildings in the Green Belt that expands on Policy RE6 of the Local Plan. The Council has also adopted Village Design Statements for Lingfield and Woldingham. A Site Brief has been adopted for the Lambs Business Park and Urban Design Concept Statement has been adopted for the site of the former Marie Curie Hospice in Caterham. These documents are available on the Supplementary planning guidance page.
More information is available on the Local Development Framework here.
The Tandridge District Local Plan Inspectors Report following the 1999 Public Inquiry is available.
For the current situation (as at January 2012) with regard to the Green Belt Settlements see the Green Belt page.
