Local Development Framework

The Local Development Framework (LDF)

The Local Development Framework system of Development Plans was introduced by the previous Government in 2004. However following the introduction of the Localism Act in late 2010 changes are being introduced which will reintroduce Local Plans. The Council is working on its LDF/Local Plan which will replace the Tandridge District Local Plan which was adopted in 2001.

The Core Strategy is the first and most important document and this was adopted in 2008. Background information (the evidence base) is available on the Local Development Framework - Evidence Base page.

You can view the Planning Policy MapsThis link will open in a new window (This link will open in a new window) which include links to the text of Core Strategy and the saved Local Plan.

Local Development Scheme (LDS)
The Local Development Scheme 2011 revision sets out the individual Local Development Documents the Council is planning to prepare and gives a timetable for their production. This revised Scheme came into effect in November 2011.

The Council has been able to "save" many of the existing Local Plan policies beyond 27th September 2007, these saved policies will be replaced as different parts of the Local Development Framework are adopted. With the adoption of the Core Strategy in October 2008 further Local Plan policies have been superseded.

Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

The Statement of Community Involvement 1st Revision March 2010 sets out the Council's arrangements and standards for public consultation.
