Planning application forms


From 6 April 2008, the new Standard Planning Application Form (1APP) replaced all previous planning application forms within England (except for mineral applications which are submitted direct to the County Council) and is the only legal way of submitting a planning application.

The Council's Planning and Environment Committee has now agreed a Local List of information requirements for use in validating planning applications. These can be viewed here Planning validation of applications and will be used in processing applications received after 1 July 2008. Please familiarise yourself with these before proceeding. All relevant supporting information must be provided at the outset to enable the Council to assess your application.

You are encouraged to complete and submit your planning application on-line via the Planning Portal.

Alternatively, the forms are available to download below or are obtainable from the planning department by calling 01883 732859. Our old application forms are no longer accepted and you must use the new forms, otherwise your application will be invalidated.

Please choose the appropriate application forms for your purpose and print out (the original plus 3 extra signed copies are required). You cannot complete these online.

The planning application fees were increased from 6 April 2008 and are set out here Planning application fees. A new charge of £85 (£25 for householder extensions or alterations) per request for written confirmation of compliance with a condition or conditions attached to a planning permission has been introduced.

Most planning and listed building applications must be accompanied by a design and access statement. The Council has prepared Design and Access Statements Guidance Notes to help applicants and their agents prepare these. If you are making a planning application within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty you should submit an appropriate design statement as explained in the following Surrey Hills Design Guide

The Council has also adopted the Waste and recycling materials storage and collection standards. These standards should be used by developers to ensure that adequate facilities are provided as part of development sites. The Council will require these standards to be met in the determination of planning applications.

The Council is no longer supporting the Ordnance Survey Map Return Scheme. Site plans are available for purchase from Blackwell.
