Housing associations are non-profit making organisations, which provide homes for people in housing need. They are also known as Registered Social Landlords (RSLs).The type of accommodation provided ranges from ordinary houses and flats, to specially built accommodation for the older and disabled people. Most properties are available for rent to applicants on the Council's Housing Needs Register, although some properties are also available through the HomeBuy scheme.
The Council works in partnership with a number of housing associations to provide accommodation within the district at affordable rents. They operate in the same way as the Council and if you are accepted onto the Housing Register, you may be offered a housing association property. Please see the Housing Allocations Scheme booklet for further information, or phone 01883 722000 to apply to join the Housing Register.
Read the Housing associations information booklet for more information.
If you are looking for specialist accommodation for older people, further information is also available from the Elderly Accommodation Council
(This link will open in a new window).
