Renting from a Private Landlord

Help with paying your rent

If you are in receipt of benefits or on a low wage you may qualify for Housing Benefit. You will need to ensure the rent is below the level of the Local Housing Allowance .

Rent deposits

If you need help with your deposit, you may qualify for the Tandridge Rent Deposit Scheme. This offers a guarantee or bond to private landlords in place of a deposit or rent in advance. If you are in receipt of benefits or on a low income you may also be able to get help paying rent in advance from the Department of Work and Pensions.
