Granny annexes and similar property

Granny annexes and similar accommodation are now exempt from council tax if they are occupied by elderly or disabled relatives of the people in the main property.

The main property may be exempt if the occupiers are elderly or disabled relatives of the people living in the annexe. Unoccupied annexes may be exempt if they are subject to certain planning restrictions.
