Don’t forget your local foodbanks
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference.
Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks across the The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to their ability to give everyone referred to them a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.
Food banks can also help people break free from poverty by providing additional support to help people resolve the crises that they face. From running holiday clubs to budgeting courses, many foodbanks are already providing more than food projects and building local connections to address the causes of poverty within their community.
Caterham foodbank and East Grinstead foodbank are welcoming food donations and their shopping lists can be found on their websites www.caterham.foodbank.org.uk/give-help and www.eastgrinstead.foodbank.org.uk/give-help.
