Car parking spaces in Oxted

St William Homes LLP, owner of the gasholder site, has applied to Surrey County Council to temporarily suspend some parking bays on Station Road East and Johnsdale, while the work to redevelop the gasholder site take place. This is to create safe access to the site for construction vehicles. The spaces affected will be outside Boots, Strides, by the Factory Shop and in Johnsdale Road.

To protect car parking spaces for shoppers in Oxted and as part of its commitment to finding parking solutions in the town before the Ellice Road car park is redeveloped, the Council has put plans in place to create additional spaces.

The recycling banks in Ellice Road car park will shortly be removed to create an additional seven spaces which will be allocated to shoppers. Alternative recycling banks are located at Chalkpit Wood garage area, Master Park football club, Tandridge Leisure Centre, Mill Lane Recreation Ground and Oak Close on Pollard Oaks Road.

In addition, 16 business permit holder’s spaces in Ellice Road are being made available to shoppers. The permit holders this affects are being moved to spaces in the Council Offices car park which have been freed up by relocating council staff spaces.
