Share your views on the Surrey Waste Local Plan
Residents have a final chance to share their views on a new plan which considers how and where the waste created in Surrey can be managed sustainably.
The Surrey Waste Local Plan makes sure enough land is available for facilities to be built on to manage the county’s waste. The current plan has been in place since 2008 and has now been updated. Over the last two years, residents and businesses have shared feedback to help shape the new plan. After listening to feedback, the plan includes locations likely to be suitable for waste facilities, while taking many factors into consideration including the environment.
The final plan will guide the council’s decisions on future planning applications for the development of waste facilities in Surrey. You can now comment on the submission plan before it is submitted to the government for independent examination.
You can read the submission plan and share your views until 10 March. Visit the Surrey County Council website to find out more and have your say. Paper response forms are also available and you can request a copy by calling 0300 200 1003 or downloading and printing the form from the website.
