Fantastic support for local good causes
The top winner from the Tandridge Together Lottery draw on Saturday 7 April scooped £250 and supported Reigate and Banstead Women’s Aid with the ticket purchase. Four other lucky lottery winners won £25 each and supported The League of Friends of Caterham Dene Hospital, Oxted Hockey Club and Hillcrest Netball Club with their ticket purchases. In addition 92 players won three free tickets. The full list of winners is available at www.tandridgelottery.co.uk/results.
Charlotte Kneer, Chief Executive Officer of Reigate and Banstead Women’s Aid, said: “We were so pleased to hear that one of our supporters won £250 in Saturday’s draw. We are a small charity that relies on the support of local people and the lottery is giving us a way to raise much needed funds. We have already sold 70 tickets a week, and are on our way to our target of 100 tickets a week which would bring in £2,600 per year.
In our refuge, we look after women and children who have had to flee their homes because of domestic abuse. The money from The Tandridge Together Lottery enables us to provide a caring, supportive environment and we’re so grateful for the support we’ve already received.”
There are 114 good causes in the Tandridge district registered on the website and anyone buying a ticket can select the local good cause they want to support.
The next draw is on Saturday 14 April and every Saturday after that. Tickets cost £1 and all profits will go to good causes in the Tandridge district. Tickets are available to buy at www.tandridgelottery.co.uk and residents who don’t have access to the internet can also take part by calling 01883 460555.
