Council tax increase of 2.99% for 2024/2025

Last night’s Council meeting agreed an increase of 2.99% in Tandridge District Council’s share of the council tax for 2024/2025. The meeting also agreed the Council’s budget for next year.

Your council tax payments are vital sources of income, enabling us to deliver a wide range of services you rely on, including recycling and rubbish collections, parks and open spaces and supporting our most vulnerable residents.

We work hard to keep the annual increase in bills as low as possible, but like all councils, we have increasing demands on limited resources, which is reflected in this year’s increase. Band D residents will pay around £4.70 a week for all our services, which is an increase of 14p a week.

While we are responsible for collecting all your council tax, we only keep part of it. This is how the total band D council tax is split among the different organisations:

  • Surrey County Council receives 75%, which is £1,758.60.
  • Surrey Police receives 14%, which is £323.57.
  • Tandridge District Council receives 10%, which is £244.99.
  • Parish Councils receive 1%, which is on average £31.48.

You can see your council tax band for 2024/2025 on our website and the quick and easy ways to pay your council tax bill. Your bill will arrive, by post, in March.
