Help for residents struggling this winter
Residents struggling with the cost of living and increases to energy bills can access a range of local help and support this winter.
Several warm hubs are available in the district, where anyone can pop-in, get warm and meet others, with many offering internet access, hot drinks and light refreshments. Residents should check our website regularly as more venues are being set up and Surrey County Council has produced a warm hub map, which shows the location of warm hubs across the county.
Our website also contains guidance and advice on coping with the cost of living, including advice to help save money and energy.
Christmas at the Westway
Residents alone at Christmas or worried about their finances over the festive period are invited to join Caterham Churches Together and The Westway for a free traditional Christmas lunch on Christmas Day, either at The Westway or delivered to their home.
To reserve your place, call 01883 347230 or e-mail email@example.com. Volunteers are also needed to help organise the lunch, cook and serve on the day, deliver meals and clear up after the lunch. If you would like to help, please get in touch using the contact details above.
Following support from the local community and with financial help from Caterham Valley Parish Council, the Westway is continuing to provide its Meals on Wheels service. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, it delivers hot meals to people in the local area, with a hot main meal and pudding on offer for £6. Find out if the service operates in your area by calling the Westway.
The Westway has also published its programme of activities and services through to December.
