Remembrance Day parades and services
Residents are invited to join the Chairman of the Council, Councillor Jackie Wren, the Royal British Legion, council officers and councillors, outside the main entrance to the Council Offices on Friday 11 November at 11am to observe a two minute silence. Poppies are available at the Council Office reception.
Remembrance Day parades and services will be taking place across the district to commemorate the soldiers, sailors and airmen killed and injured in the two World Wars and all conflicts since then.
On Sunday 13 November, the Chairman, Councillor Jackie Wren and her consort, will be attending the RAF Kenley Tribute at the Kenley Airfield on Sunday 13 November at 1.30pm.
Councillors will represent the Chairman at the Remembrance Sunday services across the district which are all listed on our website.
To help accommodate the parades, there will be some road closures in some parts of the district.
Chairman of the Council, Councillor Jackie Wren, said: “I would encourage as many people as possible to attend events across the district. This is an opportunity to pause for a moment to reflect and pay tribute to the servicemen and women, past and present, who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of our county and in wars throughout the world.”
