Local Covid-19 cases among highest nationally
Covid-19 rates across our district are currently among the highest in Surrey and are the fifth highest nationally. Rates are particularly high in school age children and their parents.
Please help stop the spread of the virus by boosting your winter immunity. Get the flu jab and your Covid-19 booster and please:
- Let the fresh air in or meet outside.
- Wear a face covering in crowded spaces or on transport.
- Test regularly, at least twice a week.
- Stay at home if you are unwell.
- Wash your hands.
- Continue to use the Covid-19 app.
All children aged 12 to 15 are being offered a first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination. More information on the vaccination for 12 to 15 year olds is available.
Most 16 and 17 year olds have had their first Covid-19 vaccine and they can now receive an additional second dose. Visit www.nhs.uk/Covid-Vaccination, or call 119 for an appointment. There are also walk-in options which you can find on www.nhs.uk/grab-a-jab.
Covid-19 booster jabs are now available for those aged over 40. The NHS will contact people directly to let them know when it is their turn to get their booster vaccine.
You can find out more on the latest Covid-19 rates on Surrey County Council’s website.
Thank you for continuing to be cautious and considerate of others. You are helping keep Surrey safe.
