Oxted resident scoops a big prize on the Tandridge Together Lottery

An Oxted resident scooped one of the top prizes in the Tandridge Together Lottery on 5 June. The winner, Miss Sarah K, won the second highest prize of £2,000.

Sarah’s chosen good cause was Rescue Remedies Dog Rescue, a Smallfield based organisation which saves death row dogs from pounds, brings them back to health and rehomes them so they have stability for the rest of their lives.

She said: “It feels amazing to have won, I couldn’t believe it at first!

I was sat at home when I opened the e-mail, just settled for the evening with my parents down to celebrate my birthday the following day. It was a lovely surprise!

I chose Rescue Remedies as my charity as they are a fabulous local rescue, I’ve been volunteering with them for over nine years. I walk the dogs in the rescue every Friday and still love all the dogs and every moment there.

The rescue has really suffered on the fundraising front through the pandemic, so it’s another way to offer them support which is great.

I’d encourage everyone to support your nominated charity via the Tandridge Together Lottery, I never really thought I’d win, but I did!”

Sarah hasn’t decided how she will spend her winnings yet, but she’ll be making an extra donation to Rescue Remedies.

Players entering the lottery before 26 June will be in with a chance of winning a year’s worth of monthly fruit and vegetable deliveries from Boxxfresh, delivered straight to your door.

The Tandridge Together Lottery supports 160 registered local good causes, including community centres, sport clubs and charities, helping them deliver their valuable work for residents. Players have raised more than £200,000 for local charities and voluntary organisations by supporting our lottery.

A ticket for Tandridge Together Lottery costs £1, with 50p from each ticket going directly to good causes. To buy tickets, or register as a good cause, visit www.tandridgelottery.co.uk or call 01883 460555.
