The Castle Inn, Millers Lane, Outwood, Redhill RH1 5QB
The Castle Inn is listed as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act 2011.
On 13 October 2020, the owner of the land, Oxygen 56 Limited, gave the Council notice under Section 95(2) of the Localism Act of its intention to dispose of the land. This means local community interest groups have six weeks to make a written request to the Council to be treated as a potential bidder for the land.
This is known as the interim moratorium period, which runs for six weeks from the date the Council was notified of the intention to dispose and will expire on 24 November 2020.
If a local community interest group makes a written request to the Council to be treated as a potential bidder within the interim moratorium period, Oxygen 56 Limited can’t dispose of its asset, except to a community interest group, within the six months starting from 13 October 2020 and expiring on 13 April 2021 (this is known as the full moratorium period).
The protected period will run from 13 October 2020 until 13 April 2022. This is the period during which the owner is free to dispose of the property once the interim moratorium period or the full moratorium period (if triggered) has expired. No further moratoriums can be imposed during the protected period.
Any community interest group which would like to express an interest in the land should e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
