Burstow Gardens Allotments

Burstow Gardens Allotments are listed as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act 2011.

On 1 July 2020 the owner of the land, Burstow Parish Council, gave the Council notice under Section 95(2) of the Localism Act of its intention to dispose of the land. This means local community interest groups have six weeks to make a written request to the Council to be treated as a potential bidder for the land.

This is known as the initial moratorium period, which runs for six weeks from the date the Council was notified of the intention to dispose and will expire on 12 August 2020.

If a local community interest group makes a written request to the Council to be treated as a potential bidder within the initial moratorium period, Burstow Parish Council can’t dispose of this asset, except to a community interest group, within the six months starting from 1 July 2020 and expiring on 1 January 2021 (this is known as the full moratorium period).

Any community interest group which would like to express an interest in the land should e-mail customer services.
