Get involved with Armed Forces Day on 27 June

Saturday 27 June marks Armed Forces Day and is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up our Armed Forces community, including troops currently serving, veterans, cadets and service families.

The current restrictions mean events we’d usually attend might be affected, but some are still going ahead, some have moved online and there are lots of other ways to safely celebrate this year:

  • You could hold your own event by having a street party, picnic, BBQ or invite friends to join you, while following the latest government guidance on social distancing.
  • Why not fly your own Armed Forces Day flag, bunting or banners? Tips on how to create your own can be found online by searching for Armed Forces Day Flag.
  • Get involved online by sending a photo or video of yourself, friends or colleagues saluting, to the Armed Forces Day Twitter, Facebook or Instagram pages, using the hashtag #SaluteOurForces.

More information on the day and how to get involved can be found on the Armed Forces Day website.

The Armed Forces flag is also flying outside the Council Offices in Oxted, until Monday 29 June.
