Launch of online account for easy parking at Ellice Road car park in Oxted

From Wednesday 8 November, users of Ellice Road car park in Oxted can sign up for an online account which means they will be able to enter and exit the car park without the need to visit a payment machine. Ticketless parking begins on 15 November.

When a car enters the car park, the Automatic Number Plate Recognition system will record the number plate. On exit, users who have registered for an online account will be able to drive up to the exit barrier and it will open automatically. Any charges they incur will be visible on their online account and payment taken from a registered credit card on the 1st and 15th day of every month. The first hour of any parking session is free. 

The registration process is quick and simple. Visit and click on the online account tab. Users will be guided through a series of short screens to set it up. Multiple cars can be loaded on one account and users can add and remove cars easily. Once a MasterCard or Visa card is registered, any charges due for any of the cars on the account will be debited fortnightly. Details of all charges are clearly listed on the account for easy review. 

Income from the car park will be used to support the delivery of additional parking capacity for the town, as well as the wider RegenOxted programme. More details about this can be found on the Council’s website. The website also contains information to help Blue Badge holders apply for free parking and ways in which businesses can support their customers. 

Councillor Simon Ainsworth, Chair of the Resources Committee, said: “We hope all regular users will take the opportunity to sign up for an online account which will give them easy access to the Ellice Road car park. The first hour of any visit is free and will be automatically taken into account by the machines when calculating any costs. Staff will be on hand in the car park in the first few weeks while residents get used to the new ticketless parking system and will be happy to answer any questions.”
