Help plant new trees in Surrey this Christmas
As residents in Surrey are putting up Christmas trees ready for the festive season, they’re being encouraged to donate £3 to support the Surrey’s Trees for Christmas appeal.
Christmas trees are a much-loved part of the festive season, so it’s a perfect time to give something back to the environment and support the planting of new trees across Surrey.
Surrey County Council is working with Surrey Wildlife Trust for the appeal, which supports the planting of 1.2 million new trees in the county by 2030 – one for every resident. Trees visually enhance the environment, provide habitats for wildlife and absorb some of the carbon dioxide in our atmosphere, making them a natural way to help tackle climate change.
