Those affected by asthma, other respiratory illnesses and heart conditions can find their health is affected by poor air quality. The local airAlert scheme can help residents manage their health by sending registered users a text, e-mail or voicemail message letting them know when poor air quality is predicted in their area. This allows people with health problems or their carers to make choices on what they do, where they go and whether they need to take medication with them.
You can register for airAlert for free by downloading the app or completing the online form. For more information and to sign up visit www.airalert.info/surrey.
