Planning application for Bronzeoak House, Caterham
A planning application has been submitted for the re-development of Bronzeoak House in Caterham to provide affordable rented accommodation. It is available to view at www.tandridge.gov.uk/planning using the application reference 2019/1075.
The existing building has been demolished and the proposed development will consist of 12 affordable rented flats for families and 14 flats for older people. Bronzeoak House is in a central location, close to Caterham town centre and good public transport links.
The proposed development will provide improved sheltered housing for older people and flats for families at an affordable rent. Each building will have its own entrance, parking, staircase and lift. The sheltered housing is designed to meet the needs of local older people including those looking to downsize from larger homes. Parking will be provided for both buildings.
The plans have been drawn up following consultation with district councillors and Caterham Valley Parish Council.
Chair of the Housing Committee, Councillor Liz Parker, said: “This is a great opportunity to provide affordable and attractive rented accommodation for families and older people on a site in a great location. This development demonstrates our commitment to our council house building programme to provide more affordable rented accommodation which meets the needs of our residents. The plans are available for everyone to view online and I would encourage anyone with an interest in the area to do so.”
