A month long public consultation has been launched, inviting comments about the Council's draft Homelessness Prevention Strategy: Not every homeless person sleeps on the streets 2019-2023.
The draft strategy sets out the Council's vision and plans for preventing homelessness in the district, over the next five years.
Homelessness and rough sleeping can have a devastating effect on a person's health and wellbeing. This draft Strategy addresses how the Council will:
- Aim to protect and improve peoples' lives and their wellbeing by preventing homelessness and eliminating rough sleeping in the district.
- Work in partnership to provide comprehensive advice and support to as many people as possible at the earliest stage.
- Improve the breadth of housing options available to those who are homeless or threatened with it by finding new and innovative ways to engage with the private rented sector.
Everyone is invited to give their views about the draft strategy and comments can be made by:
The consultation period runs from 9am on 9 April until 5pm on 6 May 2019.
