Each year the administration running the Council presents a set of broad key objectives to the Resources Committee. These are considered and endorsed. Officers then work to achieve them through detailed actions.
The overall objective is to provide quality services at a reasonable price, while concentrating Council Tax expenditure on providing front-line services.

A. Progressing the Local Development Framework, having regard to recent and anticipated Government announcements regarding localism; including progressing the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment to completion by June 2011; and the adoption of Design Advice for Woldingham and Harestone Valley by June 2011.
B. Improving the housing position of residents by delivering the objectives contained in the joint East Surrey Housing Strategy 2009-13.
C. Implementing from 1st April 2011 new arrangements for the management of on and off street parking whilst continuing to provide free shoppers car parking in Council run town centre and village car parks.
Organisational Effectiveness
D. Implementing the Council's Human Resources/Organisational Development Strategy and , in particular, achieve savings in senior management costs.
E. Producing the Tandridge District Climate Change Action Plan by September 2011 and progressing the Council's approach to reducing carbon emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change.
F. Maintaining a satisfactory rating in the external auditors annual letter and achieving high performance levels commensurate with available resources.
Partnership Working
G. Actively seeking cost savings through partnership opportunities.
H. Working with partners and prospective developers to maintain the vitality of town centres and, in particular, encouraging redevelopment of the former Rose and Young site in Caterham and the Gas Holder in Oxted.
I. Working with associated business sector partnerships to encourage small/medium sized businesses and the rural economy.
J. Working with Tandridge Leisure Limited and others to ensure the cost effective delivery of leisure services following on from the 2010 review of the provision of leisure services in the District.
