Corporate strategy & performance management

The Corporate Strategy provides the framework within which the Council plans and delivers services.

Each year the Council's Administration agrees key objectives for the coming year, while policy committees (This link will open in a new window) agree the core objectives for their Committee Service Plans.

Core objectives are a reflection of several factors such as the corporate mission and value statements, results of public consultations, statutory requirements, political aspirations and the availability of money. These objectives are a mixture of both short and long-term aims.

Corporate Strategy News is an annual publication which draws together a summary of progress made against the current year's Core Objectives and includes the various objectives agreed for the next year.

Councillors (This link will open in a new window) and officers regularly monitor performance standards and policy committees receive regular reports on performance against targets.

In addition the Overview and Scrutiny Committee has identified a number of Performance indicators against which performance is monitored four times a year.
