Bulky refuse collection service

Residents with large or bulky items of household waste, such as a washing machine, old mattress or sofa can have them collected from their homes at the subsidised rate of only £19.05 for up to three large items.

A free service is available to residents who receive a state pension or one of the following benefits:

• Income support
• Pension credit guarantee
• Job seekers allowance
• Housing benefit
• Council tax benefit

The service is limited to two collections per household a year.

We will usually accept items you would normally take with you in a house move, for example:

• Three piece suite
• Furniture
• Bed / mattress
• White goods (but not fridges / freezers as these come under a different scheme)
• TV's

Some examples of items not included are:

• Kitchen units
• Double glazed windows
• Concrete
• Fencing
• Carpets
• Water / oil tanks
• Any garden items

To arrange a collection please call Biffa on 01883 712333 but please be aware that items can not be collected from within the house or garage etc. Items must be left in outside for collection.
