Aidis is a charity which works to improve the lives of disabled people by empowering them to make better informed decisions on assistive technology solutions. It can offer the following help:
Aidis staff can go into schools and organisations at no cost, to provide information sessions to parents, carers and staff aimed at helping improve their knowledge of Disability Computing. This usually takes the form of a two hour session providing an overview of many of the options and concepts available.
Aidis' helpline provides advice and support on all aspects of computing within the disability community. It includes a remote control facility which allows the charity to access a client PC to provide remote online training or to fix the client's computing problems from its office. A free informal advice service is available which can assess a clients' computing needs and advise on the best and cheapest computing options or solutions.
