The White Bear was built in the 15th and 16th century We are a grade II Listed Building, in the Green Belt and in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are three open fireplaces, perfect for those cold winter evenings. During the warmer days, our garden is perfect to wile away a few lazy hours in the sun. There is a tranquil pond and plenty of benches and tables dotted around. The White Bear is renowned for its succulent fillet and other fine steaks served on hot skillets. There is also a daily specials board often with fresh fish on offer. We are well known for our range of real ales, we usually have five on offer at any one time. Our ales are gravity fed direct from the barrel in the cellar. We have 'Cask Marque' accreditation in recognition of the quality of our cellar and beer management See if you can find the inscriptions carved into two of our wooden beams/posts by two workers from the 16th and 18th century.
