Supported housing

Supported housing

Some people may not be able to live completely independently or may need support to help them manage their tenancy. This might include

  • people with learning or physical disabilities
  • people with sensory impairment
  • people with a past history of offending
  • people with mental health problems
  • people with substance abuse problems (that they are actively addressing)
  • young people at risk

Support includes help in dealing with benefits, home budgeting, developing social network skills and coping with official correspondence and forms.

There are a number of housing support services and accommodation provided by housing associations in the District, such as CherchefelleThis link will open in a new window (This link will open in a new window), Transform Housing & SupportThis link will open in a new window (This link will open in a new window) and Independent Housing Opportunities - Tandridge This link will open in a new window (This link will open in a new window)(IHOT).

How to Apply

To move to supported housing in Tandridge, you will usually need to be on the Housing Needs Register and have a local connection with the district. However it may also be possible to refer other applicants with a more immediate need to some vacancies in the district and elsewhere in Surrey through the Joint Supported Housing Panel. If you are interested in moving to supported housing please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

Housing-related support is funded through a Government programme called Supporting People. For further information on Surrey's Supporting People programme go to www.surreysp.org.ukThis link will open in a new window (This link will open in a new window).
