What are the recycling sacks and who will be using them?

Recycling sacks are an alternative to the wheeled bin. The recycling sacks are only being used in special circumstances, if you are using the sacks instead of a wheeled bin you will have been informed by Tandridge District Council.

Sacks are supplied so that you can put all your mixed recycling in them including:

• Glass bottles and jars
• Metals
• Food and drinks cans,
• Aerosol cans and foil
• Paper and cardboard: including junk mail and envelopes
• Plastic: All types of plastic except expanded polystyrene
• Wax-lined, poly-lined and foil-lined cartons such as Tetra Paks and milk cartons

More than one sack can be presented on your collection day, but please make sure each sack weighs no more than 8kg.

The collection staff are only permitted to collect recycling in these sacks, they cannot be used for dustbin/general waste or food waste.

Delivery can take up to three weeks, please order more before you run out. You can also collect more sacks from the Council Offices during office hours.
