Are compostable caddy liners being provided free of charge by the Council?

You don’t need to line your kitchen caddy, just empty it regularly into the lockable outside food waste caddy and rinse it out. But if you prefer to you can use compostable liners or newspaper to line the inside of your caddy.

We considered providing compostable bags for you to use with your food caddy, but the cost of the bags is very high. If we provided 100 compostable bags to every property in Tandridge it would cost £200,000.

Due to the high cost and reduced budgets, very few councils provide these compostable bags for free.

You can buy the bags from local shops and online. We have some details of local suppliers on our website.
