Is food waste recycling a replacement for composting?

If you currently compost peelings and other uncooked food waste at home you can continue to do so or use the food waste caddy, whichever you prefer. However, any food items that you cannot at home (i.e. bones, cooked food) you can put in the food waste caddy.
