How do you decide if recycling, waste and garden waste collections will go ahead?

Decisions to suspend services are not made lightly. There is no financial benefit to Tandridge District Council or Biffa Waste Services in suspending services.

The Council and its contractor Biffa make decisions about sending out the crews each morning at around 6am, with the assessment based on the condition of roads and footpaths and the weather forecast. It also depends on whether the site that we take our recycling and waste to is open.

Sometimes the crews may find themselves sitting at the Depot from 5.45am for several hours, in case conditions improve sufficiently during the day to allow collections to go ahead.
