Don't you think changing collection days is a waste of time?

No, as many residents' rubbish is available whatever day we attempt to collect it.

Each weather incident is different and consequently unpredictable. We assess the situation with the contractor and adapt the service to minimise disruptions and collect as much material as possible. For example, if road and pavement conditions are better in one area than another, we will collect in that area as this gives the best chance of picking up greater quantities of waste, or recycling than if we tried to collect in an area badly affected by ice or snow.

While we may miss some, because residents have not made it available, we can still collect most of it which reduces the backlog.
