Why has the collection vehicle collected from one side of the road but not the other?

The recycling and waste vehicles may collect from one side of the road at a time, coming back to collect from the other side later in the day. This minimises the risk to the crew by reducing the amount of times they have to cross the road and may be a more efficient route for particular roads.
