Audit of accounts

The Council's accounts are subject to external audit by KPMG LLP.

Viewing the accounts - 15 July 2011 to 11 August 2011
From 15 July 2011 to 11 August 2011 inclusive, Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.30pm, anyone can inspect the Council's accounts for the year ended 31 March 2011 and certain related documents (such as books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts) at the Council Offices. They may also make copies of the accounts and documents. Please contact us if you would like to view our accounts.

Asking the auditor questions - from 12 August 2011
From 10am on 12 August 2011 until the conclusion of the audit process, a local government elector for the area of Tandridge District Council, or their representative, may ask the auditor questions about the accounts. Please contact KPMG LLP, Public Sector Audit, 12th Floor, 15 Canada Square, London E14 5GL to make arrangements to ask any questions.

Objecting to the accounts - from 12 August 2011
From 10am on 12 August 2011 until the conclusion of the audit process, a local government elector for Tandridge District Council, or their representative, may object to the Council's accounts asking the auditor to issue a report in the public interest (under section 8 of the Audit Commission Act 1998) and/or apply to the court for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to law (under section 17 of the Audit Commission Act 1998).

Written notice of a proposed objection and the grounds on which it is made must be sent to the auditor (c/o Andy Sayers, Director), KPMG LLP, Public Sector Audit, 12th Floor, 15 Canada Square, London E14 5GL and copied to the Chief Finance Officer, Council Offices, Station Road East, Oxted RH8 0BT.
