Garden Waste

A collection of green garden waste including leaves and twigs

Garden waste is not collected as part of the household collection service.

The easiest way to get rid of most of your garden and some kitchen waste too, is to put it in a home composter in your garden. Further details and the latest offers on buying a composter can be found here compost bin. Or if you are interested in disposing of your kitchen waste then please see our information on green cone food waste digesters.

If you do not want to compost your garden waste at home you can take it to your local community recycling centre, at either Bond Road in Warlingham or Chaldon Road in Caterham, and put it in the garden waste bins. This will then get composted.

If you don't want to compost at home and can't get to the community recycling centres then you can buy garden waste sacks from Biffa Waste Services. You put the garden waste in the sacks and leave them out for collection on the same day as your household waste. These cost £23.52 for 25 bags and are available by calling Biffa on 01883 712 333. Please note that the garden waste cannot be composted if you choose this method and is unfortunately landfilled.
